About the project
Estabishing a compreHEnsive transport Research information Management and Exchange System “HERMES”
Duration of the project [months]: 26
Project Partners: 5
From Different EU Countries: 5
International Expert Organisations: 3
Work Packages: 6
Deliverables: 16
The main Objectives:
Objective 1: HERMES project aimed to foster communication and collaboration between EU transportation researchers and their counterparts worldwide.
- Objective 2: To establish a transportation research database portal, enabling easy access to information on past and current research conducted worldwide.
- Objective 3: To engage major research players in discussions about removing obstacles to international collaboration, and to suggest recommendations for activities and policies that would facilitate the development of truly international collaborative transportation research programs.
Our role in HERMES Project:
- EUROMOBILITA was project partner and Work Package 2 leader, responsible for responsible for designing and co-developing the project portal and Dissemination of project results.
- Euromobilita designed and developed an On-line Questionnaire that addressed the topic areas under discussion at the HERMES Workshops.
- Euromobilita developed and implemented the Dissemination Strategy for the HERMES project.
- We set up Project Website and maintain mailing list, supporting Project partners and enhancing internal communication.
- EUROMOBILITA supported and enhanced Project meetings with use of Digital Voting System.
About the project:
Duration of the project [months]: 24
Project Partners: 16
From Different EU Countries: 12
Work Packages: 9
Deliverables: 48
The main Objectives:
Objective 1: To research the current state-of-the-art of transport research provision in each of the New Member States (NMS) and Associated States.
- Objective 2: To include the four transport modes of road, rail, waterborne and aeronautics in the research and included both the public and private sectors.
- Objective 3: After successfully researching and gathering this information it was collated together and developed into the TransNEW database of transport researchers across the regions and modes.
- Objective 4: TransNEW project had a highly targeted Dissemination Strategy that began with promoting the aims and objectives of the project to attract researchers to highlight their research in transport research.
- Objective 5: To actively promote the interactive regional workshops programme and encourage transport researchers to network with other researchers in the brokerage events at the workshops and register on the TransNEW database.
- Objective 6: To stimulate the participation of Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) through Regional Clusters in the NMS and TransNEW proposed to increase the awareness of the potential for participation of SMEs in the EC work programme.
Our role in TransNEW Project:
- Euromobilita was the TransNEW Project Partner responsible for increasing the knowledge of the Transport Research capabilities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the New Member States (NMS) and Disseminating Research Activities.
- Euromobilita successfully integrated the SMEs Database into the generic TransNEW database to ensure a One-Stop-Shop for SMEs to assist them in accessing research funding for transport for the different transport modes.
- Development of a corporate image for the TransNEW project including the logo design and colour scheme and promotional material.
- Extending Database of transport research SMEs through the development of a dedicated (SME Database) and disseminate the results.
- Defining the barriers and obstacles of Transport Research SMEs and guiding them to greater inclusion in EU Transport Research projects.
- Implementation of a Digital Voting System to support TransNEW Regional Research Capabilities and Capacities Workshops.
